KLD Cosmetics was created from research on the fluctuating bodies and lifestyles of millennial women in the SAPMENA region, specifically in Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, and Bangkok. Each SDK features a dual product, with the brand’s mission to accompany women through life’s diverse stages and the body’s natural cycles and lifestyle habits. Derived from “kaleidoscope,” KLD captures the essence of beauty in every form, reflecting the vibrant spectrum of femininity. By partnering with Clue, KLD uses computer vision to seamlessly sync hormonal and menstrual data with the easy input of cosmetic usage. The KLD analysis tab, powered by custom-trained artificial intelligence, offers tailored skincare insights and advice on the ingredients used and their impact on the skin. The tab features a daily shareable generative art pattern using the user’s inputted data to embrace the beauty of ever-changing cycles. I was responsible for the graphic design and visual brand identity, UX design, AI app research and prototyping, copywriting, and video edit. I also worked collaboratively with my teammates Eunah Lee and Sanjana Nagesh to design the product and 3D models, research, ideate, and brainstorm. The work is conceptual R&D done in partnership with L'Oreal Groupe and was featured in the 2024 Nvidia GTC Conference.
